Ashika Tamang becomes RSP candidate for Dhading-1 in Nepal election

Kathmandu — The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has officially nominated Ashika Tamang as its candidate for Dhading-1 in the upcoming House of Representatives election slated for March 21.

Tamang, known for her work as a social activist, received the party ticket at a formal event held at the RSP central office, where party leaders, including Ganesh Parajuli, handed over her nomination certificate.

She has been active in supporting those affected during the Gen Z movement, particularly helping injured protesters and families who lost loved ones, a role that has raised her public profile beyond traditional political circles.

Initially, Tamang had indicated an interest in contesting as an independent candidate or from another constituency, but she ultimately accepted the RSP’s nomination for Dhading-1. The decision reflects her growing involvement in national politics and the party’s strategy to field prominent social figures in competitive seats.

As the election nears, Dhading-1 will be one of the constituencies to watch, with Tamang’s candidacy adding a new dynamic to the district’s electoral landscape.
