CPN-UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has arrived in Jhapa, signaling the formal start of his election campaign as he prepares to register his candidacy for the upcoming parliamentary election.

According to party sources, Oli is expected to complete the nomination process from Jhapa, a district that has long been considered his political stronghold. His arrival has drawn attention from party cadres and local supporters, with election activities gaining momentum in the region.

Oli has represented Jhapa in past elections and continues to maintain a strong organizational influence within the district. Senior leaders of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) are also present in Jhapa to support the candidacy process.

While the Election Commission has not yet released the final list of candidates, Oli’s move is seen as a strategic step as major political parties accelerate preparations ahead of the polls. The upcoming election is expected to be highly competitive, with national leadership figures contesting from key constituencies.

With nomination registration underway, political campaigning across the country is expected to intensify in the coming days, placing Jhapa at the center of national political attention once again.
