Biratnagar Kings Achieve Hat-Trick Defeating Janakpur Bolts in NPL 2025

The Biratnagar Kings have secured a historic three-in-a-row victory in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025 by overcoming the Janakpur Bolts in a gripping encounter at the TU International Cricket Ground. This win firmly establishes the Kings as early title favorites in the tournament.

Put into bat first, the Biratnagar Kings managed to post a fighting total of 135 for 7 in their 20 overs. Solid performances came from middle-order batsmen Shubham Ranjane, who scored a critical 37 off 29 balls, and all-rounder Bashir Ahmad, who contributed a quick-fire 36 runs. The Janakpur bowling attack, led by Rupesh Singh and Sangeeth Kure, managed to keep the total within a chaseable range.

However, the Kings’ bowling unit, spearheaded by captain Sandeep Lamichhane, proved too formidable. Applying intense pressure, the Kings restricted the Janakpur Bolts’ chase, taking wickets consistently and never allowing any batting pair to settle.

The Janakpur Bolts, who were the defending champions, struggled to find momentum in their innings, ultimately falling short of the target. This loss marks a critical setback for the Bolts, who must quickly regroup to revitalize their NPL campaign.

For the Biratnagar Kings, this third consecutive victory—following wins against the Pokhara Avengers and Kathmandu Gorkhas—highlights their superb form and makes them the team to beat in the NPL 2025 season.
